Summary:

Our problem solving course is perfect for trad climbers who would like to learn essential skills to avoid problems and to solve problems while on a climb. We use a building block approach to construct a toolbox of skills that can be mixed and matched as scenarios require.

What you'll learn...

  • Simple problems

  • Hauling and lowering

  • Escaping the system

  • Ascending and descending ropes

  • Descent anchors

  • Emergency equipment and procedures.

Who's this for?

Anyone looking to climb in a multi pitch setting should have an understanding of basic problem solving and avoidance. You will probably have a good understanding of rock climbing and general techniques. If you have asked yourself what does a prussik do, then this is probably the course for you. It makes sense that your regular climbing partner attends so that you know they have the skills to help you out.

Kit needed:

All climbing kit is provided, including technical kit. If you wish to bring your own gear that’s no problem.

Itinerary:

Our start time and meeting point is 9:00am at a local café. Here we will brief you on the days activity. From here we will set off into the crag for an exciting days learning.  We may use different venues during the day. The course will end around 4:30pm.
